Because keeping the books straight takes real time and attention, and most owners would rather spend that time running the business. A bookkeeper keeps your numbers accurate all year, catches problems while they’re still small, and has your records organized when tax season comes around. Plenty of owners could do it themselves. Most just don’t want to, and that’s a completely fair line to draw.

Yes. Everything happens in QuickBooks Online, so it works exactly the same whether you’re down the street or across the country. Most communication happens over email and phone. You can book a call right through the site.

No. QuickBooks Online is the platform I work in, and you don’t need to already be set up on it. If you’re not there yet, getting you converted over is part of onboarding.

Yes, that’s exactly what catch-up and cleanup work is for. It’s quoted separately from ongoing monthly bookkeeping, based on how far behind things are, and paid up front before ongoing service starts.

Yes. It’s month-to-month from day one, and there’s no termination fee, ever. You do need to give 30 days’ written notice, and you’re responsible for that full 30 days once notice is given, even if you’d rather stop tomorrow.

Not yet. I’m a QuickBooks ProAdvisor-certified bookkeeper. I’m not a CPA or tax preparer, so I don’t file returns or give tax advice. I keep your books clean and accurate, which means less for whoever files your taxes to sort through. I’m working toward becoming an Enrolled Agent, and I’ll update this when that changes.

Yes. Payroll runs through third-party payroll software, and it’s included at some package levels or available as an add-on at others, depending on your plan.

A few things are outside what I do, on purpose. I’m not a CPA or tax preparer, so I don’t file your taxes or tell you what to deduct. Contracts and worker classification questions belong with an attorney. Managing your team day to day (hiring, firing, workplace issues) is outside my lane too, since I’m not HR or an office manager. When something’s outside what I do, I’ll tell you and point you toward who can help.

Your records and QuickBooks access stay available to you regardless. If I were ever unable to work for an extended period, you’d be notified as soon as possible. Your records live in your own QuickBooks account, so you keep access to them no matter what.
