Terms of Use for Topped Off
Topped Off is published by Grumbee’s Bookkeeping LLC, based in Bayfield, Colorado.
The short version: Topped Off is a tool to help you remember. Your home, your car, your animals and everything you track are yours to look after, and you use the app at your own risk.
Agreeing to these terms
By using Topped Off, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the app.
Apple’s standard license agreement for apps also applies to Topped Off. In that agreement, the “Licensor” is Grumbee’s Bookkeeping LLC. You can read it here:
What the app is for
Topped Off keeps the dates, miles and hours you give it, shows how full each bar is, and reminds you. It is made for your own personal use. If you use it in any other way, that is at your own risk.
You are responsible for what you track
Looking after your home, your vehicles and equipment, your animals, your family’s health and your paperwork is your responsibility. The app is there to help you remember. It does not do the work, and it does not check that the work was done or done right.
What a bar shows depends on what was entered: the dates, the readings, the schedule and the answers to tests. If any of those are missing or wrong, what the app shows will be wrong too.
Schedules are starting points
The ready-made list fills in a starting schedule for each thing, such as a furnace filter every 90 days or an oil change at 5,000 miles. These are general starting points. They may not fit your home, vehicle, equipment or animal, and they can be too long or too short for yours.
Follow the maker’s instructions, your owner’s manual, your vet, your doctor, your mechanic and the law where you live. If they say something different from the app, follow them.
The app is not professional, mechanical, veterinary, medical, legal or safety advice.
Safety items
For smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, outlets, garage doors and anything else that keeps people safe, test and replace them the way the maker says. A bar that shows green, or a test you marked as working, does not mean the device works.
Reminders and syncing can fail
Reminders may not arrive, or may arrive late, for many reasons: notifications turned off, a Focus or quiet setting, a phone that is off or out of battery, limits set by iOS, or the app not being opened for a while. Do not rely on a reminder alone for anything that matters.
Syncing through iCloud depends on Apple, your internet connection and your Apple Account. Changes may arrive late, may not arrive, or may be lost. Keep your own records of anything important. Export to a spreadsheet from the gear menu lets you keep a copy.
Shared households
If you share a list with your household, anyone in it can add, change, mark done or remove things on that list. We are not responsible for what anyone in your household enters, changes or deletes.
We are not responsible for loss or damage
To the extent the law allows, Grumbee’s Bookkeeping LLC is not responsible for any loss, damage, cost or injury that comes from using the app or relying on it, including:
- damage to a home, vehicle, engine, equipment, appliance or any other property
- harm to an animal or a person
- maintenance, a renewal or a test that was missed, done late or done too early
- a reminder that did not arrive, a bar that showed the wrong level, or a schedule that did not fit
- fines, late fees, voided warranties or lapsed insurance, registrations or licenses
- lost, changed or deleted records, photos or dates
This is true whatever the cause, including a mistake or fault in the app.
No promised results
The app does not promise any results whatsoever. It does not promise that anything you track will last, work, stay safe or stay in good condition.
The app is provided as it is
We work to keep the app accurate and working. It is provided as it is and as available, with all faults and without a warranty of any kind. Apple’s standard license agreement sets out these limits in full, including that the total amount Grumbee’s Bookkeeping LLC could owe you for all claims is no more than $50, and it applies here.
Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is so, they apply as far as the law there allows.
If someone else makes a claim
If someone makes a claim against Grumbee’s Bookkeeping LLC because of how you used the app, or because of what you entered or shared in it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, as far as the law allows.
What’s free and what’s paid
Topped Off is free for up to 5 things and 2 Today checks. Topped Off Plus is a one-time purchase made inside the app through Apple, and it can be shared through Apple’s Family Sharing. It is not a subscription. Apple handles payments and refunds.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you agree to the new terms.
